Following Arriva’s decision to cease running bus services in Surrey, I am pleased to report that Stagecoach have announced that they will be taking over many of Arriva’s current bus routes.

Stagecoach will soon be running the key Woking services of 34, 35 and 91 – as well as the 1, 6, 47, 53 and 63 elsewhere in Surrey – from 18th December.

The company will be providing these services on a largely commercial basis, but certain parts of them will be supported by Surrey County Council, mainly during the evening and on Sundays.

However, Arriva and the County Council are still looking for a company to run the remaining Arriva bus services in Surrey.  Currently the 3, 18, 436 and 479 services still need a new provider.
