I am currently serving as the Mayor of Woking and since 2009, I have been the Lib Dem County Councillor for Woking South.
I am really delighted and honoured to serve as the 45th Mayor of Woking, my hometown. I know Woking like the back of my hand, but I getting to know it even better as Mayor. I am looking forward to supporting as much of the civic and community side of the Borough as I can over the next year.
My Mayoral Charity is the York Road Project, Woking’s local homeless charity. The York Road Project provides emergency lodging and longer term accommodation and ongoing support to help those experiencing homelessness get back on their feet. I am hoping that I can help raise funds for this very deserving cause, and also raise awareness as to how Woking residents can best help people who have fallen on hard times.
As Woking’s Mayor, I will be apolitical but this does not impact by role as Woking South’s Lib Dem County Councillor. At County Hall, I am continuing to campaign on Surrey County Council’s failings on social care, highways and children’s services.
