Campaigning to be the Lib Dem MP for Woking, Deputy Leader of Woking Borough Council and Councillor in South Woking Learn more
I am campaigning to be the Lib Dem MP for Woking. I am Deputy Leader of Woking Borough Council and a Borough Councillor for Hoe Valley, I am also the Lib Dem Group Leader on Surrey County Council and the County Councillor for Woking South.
I grew up in Goldsworth Park and Horsell, where I attended local schools including Horsell Church of England Middle School, Woking High School and Woking College. I lived in Westfield for many years, I now live by Woking Park with my sausage dog Toffee.
I was first elected to serve my local community as a Councillor in 2009. I am now in my fourth term as a Borough and County Councillor, having been re-elected with increased majorities in the May 2021 elections.
I was delighted to have become Deputy Leader of Woking Borough Council following the elections in May 2022. As Deputy Leader, I have specific responsibility for strategic projects and the voluntary sector.
On the County Council, as well as leading the Lib Dem Group, Will serves on the People, Performance and Development Committee and the Resources and Performance Select Committee.
In 2018 to 2019, I was honoured to serve as the Mayor of Woking, during which time I strongly supported the Borough’s voluntary sector and raised tens of thousands of pounds for my Mayoral Charity, the York Road Project, which helps local homeless people.
I stood to be Woking’s Lib Dem MP in the 2019 General Election. Although I did not get over the line in Woking, I led the Lib Dems to our best result in a decade. We finished a strong second with 31% of the vote, increased our vote share by 13% and slashed the Conservative majority to around 9,000 votes.
