Campaigning to be the Lib Dem MP for Woking, Deputy Leader of Woking Borough Council and Councillor in South Woking Learn more

Following a request from Lib Dem Councillors, Woking Borough Council has committed to improving the subway under Woking Station.
My colleague, Councillor Liam Lyons, got unanimous support for his motion during last week’s Full Council meeting. The Lib Dem Group called on the Council to take advantage of the significantly lower numbers of pedestrians using the subway underneath Woking Station, as a result of the current coronavirus restrictions, and arrange for the subway to be refurbished.
Many local residents use the pedestrian underpass underneath Woking Station on a regularly basis, but it has become dilapidated and is in a poor state of repair and decor. At times, it can be unpleasant and an eyesore for pedestrians transiting between south Woking and the town centre. I am really pleased that the Council agreed with our motion, and that it will now be refurbished – which is long overdue.
