As Christmas approaches and 2020 draws to a close, I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and all the very best for the New Year.

There is no doubt that this year has been a difficult one for all of us.  The challenges of separation from loved ones, loneliness and financial uncertainty have conspired to make life really challenging for so many.

And yet the difficulties we have faced have also brought out the very best in people in Woking – the rainbows in the windows, the clapping for carers, the simple acts of human kindness, the community groups which came together to enable those at risk to shield with the peace of mind that they were supported and not alone.

I wish you and your family a peaceful Christmas in the hope that 2021 will be better than 2020.
