On Monday, Surrey County Council will start work on widening the pavement on Guildford Road by Claremont Avenue in order to improve pedestrian safety.
I am delighted this work is finally happening – it is something I have been pushing on for years. Being very close to Greenfields School and Woking Park, this pavement is well used, but very narrow – therefore unsafe for large groups of people, disabled people and pushchairs to use.
This is a scheme will widen the pavement on the south side of Guildford Road, just west of Claremont Avenue. The works will include the widening of the footway, carrying out kerbing works, refreshing road markings, cutting back vegetation and carrying out drainage works.
During these roadworks works, two-way temporary traffic signals will be in place on Guildford Road for about 10 days.1 Comment
