Meet the Team
In South Woking we have an excellent team of Liberal Democrat Councillors that work together for the benefit of all the residents across South Woking.
Councillor Rosie Sharpley
Rosie is the Lib Dems Parliamentary Spokesperson for Woking constituency, which covers Woking Borough and the villages of Normandy and Pirbright. She is also a Borough Councillor for Goldsworth East and has served as the Mayor of Woking in 1993 - 1994. Rosie has lived in Woking for nearly 30 years and has worked in the local NHS as a nurse practitioner for 20 years.
Councillor Ian Johnson
Ian is a Borough Councillor for Mount Hermon West and the Leader of the Lib Dem Group on Woking Borough Council. Ian has a strong background in the financial industry where he still works and was also Mayor of Woking in 2005 - 2006.
Councillor Sue Smith
Along with Ian, Sue is also a Borough Councillor for Mount Hermon West. She was Leader of Woking Borough Council, along with Lib Dem Group Leader in 2006 - 2007. Sue teaches English, French and Latin part time in Woking and West Surrey.
Councillor Derek McCrum
Derek is the Lib Dem Borough Councillor for Kingfield, Westfield and Barnsbury. He was elected for the first time in 2004 and re-elected with an increased majority in 2008. Derek has lived in Westfield for 26 years with his wife Rosemary who is agent and chair of the Woking Lib Dems. He was previously a science teacher and now teaches swimming in Woking.
