Get To Know Me

I was born in near by Frimley Park Hospital and apart from my three years at university in the Midlands I have lived in Surrey all my life. I grew up in Lightwater and on the Sythwood Estate in Goldsworth Park, where I attended Lightwater First School, Hammond Middle School, Horsell Church of England Middle School, Woking High School and Woking College.

I first became involved in politics with the Liberal Democrats at the start of the Iraq War and when the Labour Government introduced top-up fees for university students. Whilst living in Leicester and Woking I spent time as a volunteer at the local Citizens Advice Bureau, a Refugee Centre and a charity for those with learning disabilities.

I currently live in the heart of South Woking in Westfield. I recently graduated with a Law degree from and I then went on to serve as a caseworker and assistant for Lynne Featherstone, the Member of Parliament for Hornsey and Wood Green in North London.

I was elected as County Councillor for Woking South, representing the areas of Mount Hermon, Barnsbury and the villages of Kingfield, Mayford, Sutton Green and Westfield at County Hall in June 2009. I am a member of Surrey County Council’s Local Committee for Woking and the Environment & Economy Select Committee, which oversees strategic planning, the countryside, waste disposal, economic development, the rural economy and housing. I am also a member of the Surrey Waste Partnership and the Council’s liaison with the Youth Services in Woking.
